Birds of Paradise is Scotland's first inclusive touring theatre company working with casts of disabled and non-disabled professional actors. Our aim is to present adventurous and challenging work and we have been doing that since 1993.
Our objective is to place disability in the public arena through our performances and to increase the profile of those disabled actors who work with us.
‘Birds of Paradise was highlighted as an example of good practice, as it is a professional theatre company which places disability in the public arena and challenges people’s attitudes.’ Scottish Parliament Equal Opportunities Committee in 2006
